Food lovers are being encouraged to tuck into the best that Lincolnshire can offer next month.September will see the county celebrate British Food Fortnight 2008, with an Autumn Food Fair hosted by Tastes of Lincolnshire.

It aims to bring a whole new meaning to "field to fork" dining and raise the profile of a county that produces 20 per cent of the nation's eating requirements.

The Food Fortnight, a national event, runs from September 20 to October 5. The best of local produce will be showcased at the Festival Hall in Market Rasen on September 27.

And from Lincolnshire Poacher cheese to rare breed meats, award winning sausages and home-made fudge, there will be something for everyone.
