Staffs builder Seddon to use wool as insulation

Construction firm J & S Seddon Building is planning to use sheep's wool as an environmentally-friendly form of insulation.

The company, which is based in Duke Street, Fenton, has joined forces with Rhyl firm Black Mountain Insulation, which will supply it with wool for future projects. Black Mountain was founded last year and uses wool farmed on the hills of Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England.

J & S Seddon Building director Barry Thompson said: "The use of wool is the perfect green solution for insulation issues.

"As a natural by-product of the sheep farming industry, it is sustainable and natural as well as biodegradable and recyclable. It is also easy and safe to handle and provides good insulation. Another major feature is its ability to effectively manage condensation."
